The Ehsaas Program is part of the national government’s efforts to provide income for the underprivileged class. As of now, 70 percent of households have been covered under the Ehsaas survey.
The program is targeting seven million beneficiaries in the next five years. The program aims to lift 7 million women out of poverty and create a welfare state. In the first phase of the program, one million families in 70 districts have already begun enrolling. Within two months, those eligible will start receiving sponsorship grants.
